My cats, especially Sparky and Sapphire, seem to be moulting all over the place recently. Anyway I decided I might get myself a Furminator so went online to try to find one. There was a big range of prices for the same item (I wanted the one specially for cats - the purple one) up to £30 and I ended up buying one from Ebay. I think it was £6.99 and about £2.50 for postage, so I got it for under a tenner. I ordered it on Thursday evening, and it arrived this morning, so very fast delivery. I couldn't wait to try it out, and so far have used Sparky as my guinea pig. And I am very impressed. You wouldn't believe the amount of hair that has come off him!! I have a pile of fur about as big as Sparky is! He must have been really hot with all that loose fur. It doesn't look like much - not that much different from other cat combs - but I think it was definitely worth buying. Poor Sapphire doesn't know what she's in for when she finally comes in

That's great Gemini. Will look immediately on ebay. My cats are molting all over us We're covered in cat hair as well as the furniture.
It wouldn't arrive though until I'm away so hubby will have to do the honors.

My two love being combed but only when they are in the mood. We just use a normal cat comb from the pet shop and it is amazing at how much fur is shed - I am sure I could stuff a cushion!
The chinchillas shed even more fur at this time of the year

Well Sparky tolerates it. Pearl and Sapphire will let me brush them for a bit then gets fed up. Dexters coat is so short that not much comes off him, and I always feel I need to be careful with Meg because she's still quite thin and I'm worried about hurting her. But I've got a big mound of fur!
